Post Laser Treatment Skin Care
After a cosmetic laser treatment, your skin may feel a bit swollen, sensitive, and irritated. These issues will self-correct within a few days. You can help by applying cold packs and keeping your skin moisturized. Sleeping with your head elevated for a day or two after treatment may also be helpful, though this depends on where you have received treatment.
In addition, you may need to:
- Use a Gentle Cleanser (Avoid Exfoliants and Harsh Chemicals)
- Avoid Direct Sunlight as Much as Possible
- Use an SPF 30+ Sunscreen When Going Outside
- Keep Skin Clean and Moisturized
- Stay Hydrated
Laser skin resurfacing causes peeling, much like a sunburn. During this phase, you may have to avoid wearing makeup as well.
