Why S-Lifts are Not Ideal

Why S Lifts are Not Ideal 64f8e4de4966f.jpeg

Recent advances in facial and neck rejuvenation surgery (facelift and neck lift) have provided many patients with the opportunity to safely correct the signs of aging. In addition to a refreshed and rejuvenated look, patients have had secondary health benefits that transformed their social lives.

The effects of gravity and loss of skin elasticity and volume progress with aging. Most patients are especially bothered by their jowls and necks, where they cannot hide the sagging tissues.

Some patients choose to address these issues with office-based facelifts or neck lifts. Office-based procedures performed with the injection of local anesthesia under the skin, and sometimes supplemented with Valium (or similar medication), were very popular for a short period of time. In fact, a national company that promoted these office-based procedures went out of business.

We have found that patients are much more comfortable with being “asleep” (under anesthesia) during their procedures. The benefits of anesthesia include the ability to perform multiple procedures at the same time, including eyelid lifts and brow lifts, which involve more extensive surgery. The results are also longer lasting when compared with the office-based S-lift or MAC lift procedures.

If you are interested in transforming your look, please schedule a consultation to discuss your options. Remember, you are only as young as your neck!
